Guided relaxing meditation for Autumn
As we come towards Autumn half term here in England, I don't know about you but I really need this break!
Whether or not you're taking any official time off right now, I'm certain you need and deserve a break too. So I've got a little gift for you...
I've recorded a guided meditation and set it to a montage of beautiful seasonal Autumn images. This is an invitation to grab a cuppa, sit back and take just 5 minutes for yourself.
Resisting rest
Historically, I'm terrible at taking real time off from work! It's partly because I love what I do, but mostly because - as a musician - I find it hard to turn down work... when you're self-employed, no matter how much success you have, you always know the next student, gig or opportunity is never guaranteed.
I've also learnt (the hard way!) that taking a break can be the most important part of ensuring there is a next opporuntity and that I have the health and enthusiasm to embrace it! Perhaps you can relate?
Embrace the season
This change in season tends to bring an enslaught of coughs and colds, which can be a real nightmare for the voice, and the shorter, darker days can be hard on the spirit.
The season also brings change in more beautiful ways.. the colours and the cosiness and the chance to let nature carry us through the transition rather than simply fighting it with Berocca and feeling bitter about the summer that came and went too soon!
Whether you're taking a break like me, or if it's busier now than ever I invite you to take just 5 minutes for yourself... a few moments of peace and quiet can work wonders and your voice will thank you!
